2009 Benelli Titanium 07

Benelli bikes are likely to be on the look the same so the Titanium 07 indeed share’s mechanical portions amid the Café Racer 1130 and, at a principally glance, you won’t submit radical design differences between the one and the other, but it all consists in the small amount circumstances such a offer it special and a great deal situate it in a school of its own. The motorcycle of today is ziggly the manufacturer’s notion on naked bikes (a rather superior one, by the way) additonally the Café Racer 1130 brings returning the time when rebel riders broke such a backs racing the things.

I clearly wanted to give out it uncomplicated based on information from the implement too the Titanium 07 is not clearly a different bike fitted provided the 1131cc engine, but a new interpretation amid facets this ought to earn any supplementary bike say its prays. A altered energy injected 1131cc liquid cooled in-line-triple amongst DOHC and 12 valves advances 131.3 horsepower at 9.250 rpm and 117 Nm at 6,750 rpm so it is now basic the refinement never ends. Attention to things is additionally superb so it may of course stand out as one tantalizing ride.

Full of innovations and technology you won’t find on any other middleweight Supersport.

The engineers at Yamaha had 2 main goals when they designed the R6. To be the most exciting bike to race on the track and to be the most fun sport bike to ride on a winding road. Even at full lean, the R6 allows the rider to dial up the throttle and sling shot out of a corner. Confidence, agility, performance and fun.

The 2009 R6 is showcase of Yamaha's latest sport bike technologies.

From the YCC-T fly by wire throttle to the MotoGP inspired straight frame design, to Yamaha's exclusive electronically variable intake stacks, the R6 is designed to take super sport riding to a whole new level.

Track ready; street smart.

The 2009 R6 is designed to do one thing extremely well: get around a race track in minimal time. It's about a screaming, 15,000-rpm-plus fuel injected four-cylinder engine in a taut chassis that lets it snap from upright to full lean instantly. Oh year: It's a great street bike too.

YZF-R6 - Catch the extreme
This R6 is packed with tech from our world championship race programmes to take your riding excitement to the extreme. The R6 enhances man-machine connection, giving you the confidence to exploit your skills. You get track-developed electronics: YCC-T chip-controlled throttle for ultimate acceleration and YCC-I electronically controlled variable intake funnels for bigger power and torque. Plus a race-developed chassis spec for razor-sharp handling.

Engine:

Ultra-compact, lightweight, short stroke, 599cc, DOHC, 16-valve, liquid-cooled, in-line four-cylinder with lightweight titanium valves produces incredible horsepower for a 600cc engine. Redline is set at an amazing 16,000rpm.

67mm bore and 42.5mm stroke provide a fast revving powerplant. Engine width is minimized thanks to Yamaha's special casting technologies and "liner less" cylinder design.

Compact "pent roof" cylinder head design features ultra lightweight titanium valves for both intake and exhaust. The intake valve angle is 11.5 degrees and the exhaust is 12.25 degress. The intake valves are 27mm in diameter while the exhaust valves are 23mm.

Single intake valve springs reduce weight and "friction" for optimum high rpm performance. The valve spring material for both the intake and exhaust has been revised to accomodate the increased power. The valve retainers are made of lightweight aluminum.

High flow intake and exhaust ports allow more fuel in and more exhaust out for great power delivery at all rpms.

Lightweight magnesium cylinder head cover and case covers reduce weight.

Separate cylinder block (the cylinder is no longer part of the upper crankcase) design utilizes ceramic composite plated "liner less" cylinder bores. The ceramic coating is sprayed directly on the aluminum block. The benefits are greater heat dissipation for consistent power delivery, reduced frictional power loss, reduced oil consumption and since there are no heavy liners, reduced weight too.

Lightweight forged pistons feature thin top rings for great high rpm power. The pistons are secured by lightweight tapered type piston pins. The lightweight design means fast engine response.

Lightweight crankshaft features 31mm bearing journals. The inertial crank mass has been optimized for excellent throttle response and impressive acceleration. The crank journal bearings feature new design oil holes that increase the supply of oil.

High lift / high performance, hollow, side-driven camshafts provide arm stretching power and strong acceleration.

Semi-hydraulic type automatic cam chain tensioner reduces mechanical noise and maintenance.

Mikuni fuel injection system with 41mm throttle bodies features twin injectors (primary & secondary). This type of twin injector system is also found on our MotoGP M1 machine. Each of the injectors utilizes 12 spray holes to maximize the atomization process. The secondary injectors, located inside the airbox, begin to function at mid rpms (6,000 to 7,000rpm) thru to redline. This system is lighter and simpler than the sub motor driven secondary valve type FI system. Special short intake tracts allow for higher rpms and improved power.

The F.I. system features separate TPS (throttle position sensor) and APS (accelerator position sensor) sensors.

Yamaha Chip Control Throttle (YCC-T) is another 1st for Yamaha. This system electronically controls the throttle for outstanding response and improved controllability at high rpms. The system features Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and D.C. motor driven throttle valves. The YCC-T system electronically controls the throttle valves for outstanding response and improved controllability at all rpms. The YCC-T is used to provide even more control of the intake air volume for a smoother torque character. The YCC-T features 3 - ECU's inside the main ECU to control ignition, fuel injection and the YCC-T. This special ECU is capable of responding to changes at a speed of 1000th of a second.

YCC-I or Yamaha's Chip Controlled Intake means the intake funnels / stacks vary in length (2 positions) depending on engine rpm. An electronic servo motor varies the funnel length to either 66mm (at low to mid rpms) to the short setting of 26mm at high rpm. The transition rpm between the 2 lengths is approx. 13,700 rpms. The revolutionary YCC-I provides the best of both worlds …solid low rpm torque and power combined with an amazing high rpm rush. It takes only 0.3 of a second for the funnels to move from the tall to the short position.

Yamaha's exclusive YCC-I electric-control servo motor-driven variable intake funnel system is a world's 1st on a production motorcycle and works in conjunction with Yamaha's fly-by-wire technology and FI systems.

7.6 litre air box uses a viscous type air filter.

Ram Air Induction System with centrally located intake duct delivers cool, high-pressure air "force-fed" into the intake tract for optimal combustion and greater horsepower at higher speeds. This design provides straight induction from the central fairing duct to the airbox without a lot of bends or turns.

Close ratio 6-speed transmission delivers seamless power delivery and maximum acceleration. Gear widths, splines and engagement dogs have been optimized to handle the R6's power. The shift drum and shifting mechanism are located on the right side of the cases for smooth shifting feel under power. The gears use flat contact-type engagement dogs for positive shifting and great durability.

The "Tri-Axis" or stacked transmission design creates a more compact engine front to back that allows for optimum engine placement in the "sweet spot" of the frame for optimized balanced weight distribution and incredible handling.

Slipper or back limiter clutch assembly reduces rear wheel hop when making hard down shifts or under hard braking. Key benefit is reduced lap times and smoother control when participating in either a race or track day. This clutch uses 9 paper based friction plates and 8 steel plates, plus 6 coil-type clutch springs.

The oil lubrication system has been optimized to reduce frictional loses caused by "oil drag". It features a "two side" oil pump. There is a separate liquid-cooled oil cooler to insure consistent engine temperatures for maximum performance and extended service life.

High capacity cooling system features a curved radiator with dual ring-type fans for excellent engine cooling efficiency. The ring-type fan offers more airflow than a conventional type fan.

Direct ignition coils, iridium dual electrode spark plugs and high-output magneto deliver reliable, super strong spark. With this system, the ignition coils are integrated into the plug caps, significantly reducing weight.

4-into-2-into-1 exhaust maximizes engine performance. There are three, 3-way honeycomb catalyziers with an oxygen sensor in the system to reduce harmful HC & CO exhaust emissions. The oxygen sensor provides feedback to the ECU so it can adjust for the optimum fuel/air mixture. A "mid ship" MotoGP style, lightweight titanium muffler is located below the engine to central mass and lower the center of gravity.

The exhaust system also features Yamaha's EXUP System (Exhaust Ultimate Power Valve) utilizing a titanium body and butterfly valves that prevent the "blow back" phenomenon caused by "valve overlap". This design reduces weight and maximizes cornering clearance. The EXUP system eliminates "flat spots" in the power band and reduces emissions too. This is a 1st on a 600cc supersport machine.

High powered 32 bit electronic control unit actually contains three ECUs inside the main ECU to control the FI system, the YCC-T system and the ignition system.

Air Injection System (AIS) injects fresh air into the exhaust ports to fully burn any unburnt fuel in order to reduce harmful CO & HC exhaust emissions

Chassis/Suspension:

Compact, lightweight aluminum Deltabox frame offers an optimized total rigidity balance for incredibly light and agile handling. This frame is a MotoGP inspired innovation that Yamaha calls a "straight frame concept". This means the top spars of the frame lie as close to possible to the frame's torsional axis (the line connecting the head pipe to the swingarm pivot point). The ram air duct passes through the frame at the head pipe for a straight ram air effect too. A mix of revised mold castings and pressed aluminum plates make up the frame. The engine is a fully stressed chassis member allowing for a super-light frame design.

Lightweight, detachable magnesium rear subframe. The detachable design allows rear shock access and is less costly if the unit is "looped out".

Lightweight, aluminum "gull wing" type swingarm uses a mix of castings and pressed plates for optimum rigidity. The swingarm pivot area has been modified for increased rigidity. The swingarm pivot position has also been optimized to reduce the "squat" tendencies caused by drive chain reaction to hard throttle openings.

Key chassis geometry figures include: 1380mm wheelbase, 24 degree caster angle, 97mm of trail and a 52.5% front and 47.5% rear weight balance. The maximum lean angle is a knee scraping 57 degrees.

Fully adjustable 41mm inverted front fork provides 120mm (4.7") of wheel travel and offers incredible suspension performance with ultra-precise feedback. Adjustments include: spring preload, 4-way high speed compression damping, 20-way low speed compression damping and 25-way rebound damping. The inverted design not only reduces unsprung weight but also increases the rigidity of the fork. The range of adjustments allows the rider to tune suspension to match riding style and conditions.

Upper triple clamp features a 30mm offset for precise handing and great steering feel. The lightweight aluminum clip-ons are mounted below the triple clamp.

Fully adjustable Monocross link rear suspension utilizes a piggyback-style shock providing 120mm (4.7") of wheel travel. Shock adjustments include: 9 steps of spring preload adjustability, 20-way high speed compression damping, 4 -way low speed compression damping and 20-way rebound damping adjustability. The piggy back design helps to keep the shock oil cool for more consistent damping.

Radial mount, monoblock, 4-piston calipers squeeze large 310mm dual front discs. The radial mounting design helps to reduce caliper distortion for improved braking performance with excellent control and good lever feedback. The disc carriers are made from aluminium for reduced weight while the sinter metal pads provide incredible stopping power.

Brembo radial pump master cylinder features a 16mm piston. The radial design allows for more powerful braking and improved lever feedback. The lever is adjustable for various hand sizes.

Light weight 220mm rear disc brake is squeezed by a single-piston caliper

Lightweight five-spoke 17" wheels reduce unsprung weight by making hub and spokes a single structural unit. A special casting technique makes the rim section substantially lighter and stronger.

Ultra-sleek "new edge form" bodywork features a sharp front profile with centrally located Ram Air duct, engine-revealing side cowlings and ultra-sleek tail section. There are special side fairing intake ducts to allow cool air to circulate around the engine, fuel tank and frame areas. "Minimalism" and "mass forward" movement are two words that best describe this design body.

17.5-litre fuel tank provides excellent rider ergonomics and an aggressive riding position. The reserve portion of the tank is 3.5 liters. The tank features a front tank cover like the R1 and an internal electric fuel pump.

Separate rider and passenger seats. An optional rear seat cowl is available.

Dual 55 watt H7 "cat eye" headlights. These lights not only cast a bright beam of light, but also feature a sleek profile for superb aerodynamics.

Compact race inspired multi-function digital and analog instrumentation with adjustable back lighting. Features: analog tach, digital speedometer, dual tripmeters, low fuel warning light, fuel tripmeter, and clock. There is also a programmable shift light and stop watch/lap timer that is controlled by the LHS handlebar mounted switch gear.

Single lens LED taillight provides excellent visibility, extended service life and uses less power than conventional bulbs.

Immobilizer ignition system is designed to reduce the possibility of "ride away" theft. This system must recognize the "coded ignition key" in order for the unit to start. If the immobilizer ignition does not recognize the key (or a theft's screwdriver or other type of "jimmy tool") the bike will not start even if the ignition is turned or forced into the on position. If the system does not recognize the correct coded ignition key, the ignition system and starter will not function.

2009 Yamaha YZF-R1

2009 Yamaha YZF-R1

The MotoGP-inspired R1 is the most advanced Open-class production motorcycle.

The new R1 represents a paradigm shift in technology, performance and controllability among litre class sport bikes. Inspired by Yamaha's M1 MotoGP race bike, this next generation R1 features a cross plane crankshaft design with an uneven firing order to provide outsanding yet easy to control torque and an exceptionally linear throttle feal never experienced before. But there is far more to the new R1 than just a revolutionary new engine.

The bark is bad. The bite is badder.

Forget everything you ever knew about the supersport liter class. The all-new YZF-R1 is unlike anything before. That's because it's the world's first production motorcycle with a crossplane crankshaft. The result? Incredibly smooth power delivery and outrageous torque for a rush like you've never experienced.

Introducing the all new 2009 R1 … Yamaha's technical "Tour de Force."

The new R1 has been designed to be the "Ultimate Cornering Master" of the open super sport class and one of the keys to incredible handling lies partly in the chassis but equally as important, in its ability to put useable power to the ground. This revolutionary new R1 delivers as much power as the rider wants, exactly when the rider wants it … by a simple twist of the right wrist; leaving the rider feeling like they are directly connected to the rear wheel of the new R1.

The new-generation YZF-R1 is more closely linked to our MotoGP winning M1 than ever before. For 2009 this legendary motorcycle is equipped with an all-new 998cc inline four-cylinder engine with a crossplane crankshaft that runs with an uneven firing interval of 270º - 180º - 90º - 180º. This innovative new design ensures superb throttle linearity, giving a feeling that the rider’s throttle hand is directly connected to the rear tyre. The new engine feels and sounds smoother than ever, and emits an unforgettable growl from the exhaust. Pushing out 182 PS at 12,500 rpm with 115.5 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm, this MotoGP-inspired engine is without a doubt the most technologically advanced powerplant ever seen on a Yamaha supersport bike. And for the ultimate in feel and controllability, the new-generation R1 runs with an all-new Deltabox chassis offering an idealized rigidity balance.

Key Features:

ALL NEW FOR 2009
- In the supersport liter class, there’s always lots of talk about power. You expect that. What you wouldn’t have expected – until now – is a radically superior way to deliver that power. Introducing the 2009 YZF-R1, the first ever production motorcycle with a crossplane crankshaft. Crossplane technology, first pioneered in MotoGP racing with the M1, puts each connecting rod 90° from the next, with an uneven firing interval of 270°- 180°- 90°- 180°. This all but eliminates undesirable inertial crankshaft torque, which allows the engine’s compression torque to build smoothly and provide a very linear power delivery out of the corners. It’s a feeling that’s simply unmatched, like having two engines in one: the low-rpm torquey feel of a twin with the raw, high-rpm power of an inline 4. In fact, the new YZF-R1 is not a continuation of existing supersport development; it is breakthrough technology that represents a paradigm shift in both technology and performance.

- This next-generation R1 keeps all the technological superiorities developed for its predecessor: YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) is MotoGP inspired fly-by-wire technology used to deliver instant throttle response. YCC-I is Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake which is a variable intake system that broadens the spread of power. The fuel injection system provides optimum air/fuel mixtures for maximum power and smooth throttle response.

- The R1 features Yamaha D-MODE (or drive mode) with rider-selectable throttle control maps to program YCC-T performance characteristics for riding conditions. The standard map is designed for optimum overall performance. The “A” mode lets the rider enjoy sportier engine response in the low- to mid-speed range, and the “B” mode offers response that is somewhat less sharp response for riding situations that require especially sensitive throttle operation. Switching maps is as easy as pushing a button on the handlebar switch.

- In keeping with this machine’s exceptional cornering ability and crisp handling, the all new aluminum frame has been designed to offer exceptional rigidity balance. The rear frame is now lightweight CF die-cast magnesium, contributing the optimum mass centralization. Suspension includes new SOQI front forks which use one of the tricks developed for our winning MotoGP bikes: independent damping. The left fork handles compression damping and the right side handles the rebound damping. And the rear shock adopts new bottom linkage for optimum suspension characteristics. Want even more? For the first time, R1 comes standard with an electronic steering damper.

- All new bodywork does more than add break-away-from-the- crowd styling. Completely new, the new model has a more serious, less busy look. The side fairing is smoother for a sleeker appearance. And, instead of the usual four bulb headlight design, the ’09 model now has only two projector-type bulbs mounted closer to the nose of the bike. This positions ram air ducts closer in for a more compact, smooth look. In addition, the rounded lenses are new and unique to the supersport industry.

Engine:

New, ultra-lightweight, compact, 998cc, DOHC, 16-valve, liquid-cooled, 40 degree inclined, in-line four-cylinder engine with "crossplane" style crankshaft.

Chassis/Suspension:

New design Aluminium Deltabox frame has been designed to offer an optimized rigidity balance to maximize handling performance. This frame is very rigid or stiff at the head pipe, engine mounts and swingarm pivot point. In other areas, material has been carefully removed to allow "tuned flex". Finished in black, this frame boasts a compact 1415mm (55.7") wheelbase. The swingarm pivot location has been optimized to minimize the chain tension effect under hard acceleration, providing more stable handling. The engine is a fully stressed chassis member to maximize handling. Stability, a key to great handling, is unsurpassed while the ability to hold a line under hard acceleration is excellent. This frame features a mix of gravity cast (head stock & front engine mounts & swingarm pivot area), CF die cast (outer tank rails) and aluminium panels (inner tank rails). Each of these aluminium parts has different flex characteristics in order to provide the rigidity balance the engineers desired.

The engine mounting location in the new aluminium frame is different than previous R1 models. The engine incline (9 degrees) and location (12mm forward) has been changed to improve the weight balance, front to rear weight ratio and the centre of gravity.

New, detachable magnesium CF die cast rear subframe reduces weight. The detachable design allows rear shock access and is less costly to repair if accidentally damaged.

Revised extra-long, lightweight aluminium "truss-type" swingarm provides great torsional rigidity for class leading handling, agility and manoeuvrability. This new lighter swingarm is made up of cast aluminium and C.F. (controlled filling) die cast parts. The distance between the swingarm pivot and the rear axle has been optimized (597 mm) for excellent "turn-in" abilities and rear wheel traction.

This new Deltabox chassis offers an incredible 56 degree lean angle.

New design, fully adjustable 43mm inverted fork features independent left and right damping system. The compression damping is adjusted via the left fork leg, while rebound damping is adjusted on the right fork leg. This new system simplifies the flow of oil through the fork and minimizes oil cavitation (aeration of the oil) for more stable suspension performance. Front wheel travel is 120mm (4.7"). The thickness of the inner tube and the shape of the outer tube has been optimized. The adjustable design allows the rider to tailor suspension settings to match rider weight and road /track conditions to maximize handling and suspension performance.

New bottom link Motocross rear suspension utilizes a new fully adjustable piggyback-style rear shock. The bottom link design lowers the centre of gravity for excellent handling. This new shock features 2-way (hi speed & low speed) compression adjustment plus rebound and spring preload adjustability too. This is a rising rate or progressive system. The adjustable design allows the rider to tailor suspension settings to match rider weight and road /track conditions to maximize handling and suspension performance. Rear wheel travel is 120mm (4.7").

New speed and throttle position sensitive steering damper is located under the upper triple clamp. Its special design is sensitive to the speed of the damper shaft; the faster the movement of the shaft, the more damping force is applied. The slower the movement the damping force is reduced, making the bike easy to steer at slow speeds.

Radial mount 6-piston calipers squeeze new fully floating 310mm dual front rotors. The result is incredible braking performance with excellent control and lever feedback. The rotors and carriers feature a new design.

Brembo radial pump master cylinder with 16mm piston is a direct GP race innovation. The lever is adjustable for various hand sizes.

Single piston (aluminium) slide-type Nissin rear caliper squeezes a lightweight 220mm rotor.

Engine:

1298cc, DOHC, 16-valve, liquid-cooled in-line four engine delivers massive power and torque (145 hp @ 8500 rpm and 99.1 ft-lbs of torque @ 6000 rpm) for an unequaled spread of muscle over a wide RPM range. Red line is a surprisingly low 9,000 rpm for extended engine life.

State-of-the-art engine uses advanced technology found on the legendary R1 such as a slant block design, stacked "Tri-Axis" transmission, fuel injection etc.

One-piece cylinder and upper crankcase assembly provides tremendous engine rigidity that's lighter and stiffer than two-piece designs.

Engine is a fully stressed chassis member, allowing for a lightweight yet rigid frame design.

Lightweight forged pistons with carburized connecting rods provide superb strength and reduced reciprocating mass for outstanding engine response and durability.

Ceramic composite cylinder bores ensure greater heat dissipation, reduced frictional losses and extended cylinder wear life.

Specially designed four-valve per cylinder head features compact, side-driven double-overhead camshafts providing outstanding low to mid rpm torque and horsepower for effortless sport touring and great passing power.

Advanced electronic fuel injection (EFI) system is ideal for long-distance sport-touring. The 42mm throttle body fuel injection system with 4-hole Nippon injectors delivers crisp, seamless throttle response regardless of weather or altitude. This system also enhances fuel economy, reduces emissions and offers instant, choke-free starting.

EFI system features a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), which monitors throttle position and, in conjunction with a variety of sensors (air intake temperature/pressure, atmospheric pressure, coolant temperature, crankshaft position and engine rpm), ensures precise injection intervals and ignition timing for optimal engine performance at all rpms.

Specially designed, low-vibration crankshaft features two gear-driven secondary counterbalancers delivering a smooth ride, which enhances both rider and passenger comfort.

Compact engine design uses a stacked "Tri-Axis" transmission (transmission shafts are stacked to minimize powerplant size front to back). The stacked design reduces engine length and centralizes mass, thereby allowing the engineers the ability to place the engine in the "sweet spot" of the frame for optimized front and rear weight distribution which provides excellent handling characteristics.

Wide ratio 5-speed transmission utilizes widely spaced gear ratios delivering relaxed long-distance sport touring performance combined with seamless acceleration.

Special scissors-type primary driven gear helps prevent drivetrain backlash and significantly reduces transmission noise for greater rider comfort.

Light-action hydraulic clutch provides smooth, effortless shifting, minimizing both rider fatigue and maintenance. Shift shaft features a needle-roller bearing to reduce friction for silky-smooth shifting.

Clean, quiet shaft drive system is super-durable and low maintenance. This system features mechanical cam dampers in the drive pinion for quieter, smoother power delivery to the rear wheel.

4-into-1-into-2 stainless steel exhaust optimizes engine performance across the power band and utilizes four three-way catalytic converters to reduce emissions. Two are located in the junction "box" under the engine and one in each muffler. Combined with the Air Induction System (AIS), the FJR1300 is one of the cleanest-running large-capacity motorcycle engines ever built. It easily exceeds the strict European EU-3 emission standards.

Heated oxygen sensor provides precise fuel - air ratio information to the fuel injection system to reduce emissions even further, especially at lower engine temperatures.

Curved radiator uses twin ring-type fans for great heat dissipation and to aid in moving the hot air out of the cowl area for optimized air management and less heat to the rider. Ring type fans "pull" more air than a conventional type fan.

Easy-access cartridge-type spin-on oil filter makes oil changes a snap.

High capacity oil filter and large volume of engine oil (5 litres) provides extended service intervals between oil changes.

Excessive lean angle cutout switch prevents the engine from running in the event of a tip over. The switch will activate at 70 degrees.

Chassis/Suspension:

Cast aluminum twin spar, diamond-type frame, features massive twin spars. This frame design is incredibly light and extremely rigid, the perfect combination for sharp, sportbike-like handling.

Fully detachable aluminum rear subframe helps reduce weight while permitting easier rear shock access/maintenance.

Lightweight, cast aluminum swingarm. The special swingarm design incorporates the shaft drive into its left side to reduce unsprung weight for incredible handling and suspension performance.

Key chassis geometry figures include: caster angle = 26 degrees and trail of 109mm.

Fully adjustable 48mm cartridge-style forks offer 135mm (5.4") of wheel travel. The adjustable design allows the rider to tailor suspension settings to match rider weight, load and road conditions. Fork adjustments include: 5 - way spring preload, 21 - way compression damping and 17 - way rebound damping.

Adjustable link Monocross rear suspension with 125mm (4.8") of wheel travel features a handy, two-stage (hard/soft) spring preload adjustment lever that allows the rider to easily switch between solo and two-up preload settings. Other rear shock adjustments include: 18 - way rebound damping.

Dual 320mm front discs are squeezed by Nissin 4-piston calipers with independent brake pads for each piston. Computer controlled ABS is now standard on the FJR1300A.

The ABS or Anti Lock Braking System features a linear controlled 3 position system, an ECU integrated into the compact hydraulic unit and active type wheel sensors. The benefit of ABS is excellent control under hard braking or braking on wet or slippery surfaces. The ABS system prevents wheel lock up.

Unified braking system with computer controlled ABS. When the front brake is applied, all 4 - LHS front caliper pistons are activated, while only the "upper" two pistons on the RHS front caliper are activated. When applying the rear brake, both rear caliper pistons are activated plus the two lower pistons on the front RHS caliper are activated.

282mm rear disc brake with opposed piston caliper provide outstanding stopping power. The caliper is mounted on the swingarm to reduce torque action for superior suspension and handling performance. The rear brake ABS system is also computer controlled.

Lightweight cast-aluminum 3-spoke wheels are fitted with 120/70-ZR17 front and 180/55-ZR17 rear radial tires perfectly suited to both spirited solo riding or long-range trekking.

Adjustable handlebars offers three positions of adjustability. From the centre position, the bars can be adjusted 5.5 mm forward or 5.5mm back towards the rider. Total adjustment range is 11mm.
